Description

This is a pencil drawing of David Gilmour, the legendary guitarist from the Pink Floyd band. I am a huge Floyd fan. Some may disagree, but I rank Gilmour as one of the top five guitarists of all time.

I drew this drawing for an old friend. Chris asked me to draw it after he saw my pencil drawing of Jackson Browne. Chris is a guitar enthusiast and he wanted me to draw it for his Gilmour wall, where it proudly hangs today.

I included the tree line and the amphitheater in the background to give it some context. In ‘71 Pink Floyd filmed a live performance in Pompeii’s amphitheater. A year later they released a documentary of their performance entitled: “Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii” They performed live in Pompeii again in 2016.

When my wife and I were in Pompeii a few years ago, we saw the Pink Floyd exhibition at the amphitheater. The exhibition was amazing. But more amazing is that the amphitheater is still stand after 2000 years.

As for this drawing, I am really happy with the results. The Fender guitar came out great. David’s hair and hands look amazing. I put many hours in producing this piece and enjoyed creating it. I hope you like it as well.
